Out-shooting the Bulldogs 12 to 6, the Lady Highlanders were determined to reverse last year's loss to GMC in the championship game. The ball found the back of the net in the 25th minute when Skylar Bertram scored off an assist by Jordan White and less than 4 minutes later, Bertam returned the favor in a cross to White who, controlled and composed, gave Gordon State a 2-0 lead at half-time.

The Bulldogs briefly threatened a comeback as they scored off a corner in the 61st minute. The Highlanders quickly took the game back, only allowing one more shot on goal. Another great performance by goalkeeper Brooke Shavers and the back line, Jordynne Godsey, Samaria Carpenter, Isabelle Vazquez, and Brittany Colangelo.

Gordon State ends the conference winning the Region Championship with an overall 16-1 record, 13 shutouts, 300 shots, 59 goals, and only conceding 5 goals all season.

The Highlanders will take to the road Friday as the play their first game in the District Championship, venue and time TBD.
