Women's Tennis Falls Short Against Central Alabama

Oxford, GA - The Emory Oxford women's tennis team played the Trojans of Central Alabama Community College and lost 5-4. 

In doubles play, the Eagles only secured one win on court three. Freshmen Lily McCain and Allie Lucky defeated Central Alabama's Strickland and Vandiver 8-5. 

The Eagles secured three wins in singles play, starting on court four when sophomore Lara Crosby won 6-1, 6-2. On court five, McCain was dominant, winning 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Mayuri Charan won on court six, 6-1, 7-6 (12-10). 

"We just came up a little short today, but I am proud of how our girls continued to compete till the end in each match," mentioned Coach Pernilla Hardin.

The Eagles will travel to Alabama next weekend and have a rematch against the Trojans on October 9 at 9:00 AM. They will also play Coastal Alabama that same day, starting at 2:00 PM.
