Men's Cross Country head to FAU Invitational

Men's Cross Country head to FAU Invitational

The men's cross country team will face several teams from around the state this Friday at the FAU Invitational. NCAA Division I teams from Stetson, Miami, FGCU, and FIU will be a tough challenge for the Falcons as they get their first chance to test their fitness.  Led by Jared Falchook, the Falcon's top returner, the Falcons will depend on some newcomers to fill the void left by Sebastian Hernandez and Christian Ruocco who finished 1-2 in the Region 8 meet last fall.  Coach Judy Wilson, now in her 6th season as Falcon Head Coach is optimistic about her freshman class.  "We have some new guys who are very talented, hard working, and put in a good summer of training.  They are very fit, and it showed in our Beach Relay last week.  This meet's race distance is 5000 meters which is very familiar for the guys who are just coming out of high school.  After this meet, it is all 8000 meter races, but we have people who will take to take quite well."  Evan Casterline, Joel Jean, Zeniel Lizardo, Pedro Zapata and Isaac Morrison have all found themselves in the Falcon top seven in training and are looking to make an impact this year. The men's 5000 meter race will start at 6pm with the women's race immediately following. The site of the race is at South County Regional Park, 12551 Glades Rd, Boca Raton.
