Women's Wrestling Earns Runner-Up Finish at Regionals
COUNCIL BLUFFS - Iowa Western Women's Wrestling ended the inaugural ICCAC Region 11 Championships as the runner-up, scoring 157 team points. The Reivers originally thought they had secured the championship following the event, but a scoring error was found and the revised points gave Iowa Central the title with 167 points.
IWCC ended the tournament with 10 wrestlers finishing in the top three, Mia Siqueiros (103 lbs), Molly Sek (110 lbs), Hailey Medina (117 lbs), and Ayana Fletcher (160 lbs) winning their individual weight classes.
19 Reivers will participate in the upcoming NJCAA Women's Wrestling National Invitational on March 7th and 8th at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs. Adult tickets for the two-day event are $65 for all four sessions or $23 per session. Students are $45 for all four sessions or $18 per session. Children under 3 are free.
