OLEAN - In a  neutral site game played at the Olean YMCA, the Jamestown Community College men's basketball fell to the University of Pitt-Bradford by a score of 94-69.

The Jayhawks (1-10) had a huge night from forward Gonzalo Luque (Madrid, Spain/Instituto Ortega y Gasset), scoring a career-high 25 points to go along with seven rebounds (4 offense, 3 defense). Guard Jafar Yahuza (Staten Island, NY/Port Richmond) added nine points in the effort.

On the glass, guard Josiah Ransom (Orange Park, FL/Helena HS) grabbed seven rebounds (3 offense, 4 defense) while guard Clinique Jackson (Rochester, NY/East HS) added five boards.

With team's getting a feel for one another during the first five minutes of action, JCC got a two possession lead with baskets by Luque and guard Joseph Ross (Houston, TX/Jack Yates HS) to get the 13-9 lead. The Panthers got one back before Luque pushed it back to a four-point game.

The Jayhawks biggest lead of the night came on a 6-0 run to go up 21-13 with Yahuza leading the way with four points.

From that point, the Panthers rallied to recapture the lead, going on a 14-0 run over a five minute span to go up 27-21. Forward Traden Gray (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS) got JCC a well-needed bucket to halt the run.

The Jayhawks looked to keep the game to an eight-point deficit but the Panthers got another three-pointer to fall to take a 36-25 lead into the break.

JCC went 29-for-64 (45.3 percent) from the floor with the Panthers going 32-for-52 (51.6 percent) from the field. The Jayhawks held the advantage in rebounds, 40-35, along with the advantage in points in the paint, 52-32.

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Thursday, December 9th, as they travel to Buffalo to take on Villa Maria College at 7:30 p.m.
