Volleyball Takes One on the Weekend

CANANDAIGUA, NY… The Genesee Community College women's volleyball team earned one win on the weekend at the Finger Lakes Community College pod. Genesee defeated Niagara County Community College in three sets before falling to Jamestown CC in straight sets, and to Erie Community College in four sets.

Against the Niagara County CC Thunderwolves, Morgan Mathis led the way with 10 kills. Neely Abrams had 10 assists to lead the Blue and Gold and Grace Masse had three aces. Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto had seven digs and one block.

In the Cougars next game against the Erie CC Kats, Clarice Misiak had ten kills with Carolina Cerezer Pinto having nine. Grace Masse led the way in assists with eight and Aima Kamo had six digs.

Genesee would then play Jamestown CC and the Jayhawks came out swinging, winning in three sets. Ana Carolina Cerezer Pinto had 13 kills and seven digs to lead the Cougars. Neely Abrams had 12 assists and two aces. Alexis Eighmey also had two aces and two digs. Grace Masse had nine assists.

The volleyball team is on the road this coming Saturday at the Herkimer College Pod where the Cougars will play Fulton-Montgomery, Mohawk Valley, and Herkimer College.
