With it being the 75th anniversary of Hagerstown Junior College/ Community College there is no better time to start getting the booster club more involved, and following the men's basketball game on Saturday February 12th , the Hawks Booster Club hosted a reception, inviting all Hagerstown Community College Athletics alumni.
The 1983-1984 basketball team had 3 members in attendance, Earl Lee, Barron Burks and Dwayne Jenkins. This team went 29-4 overall and were coached by (add what specific hall of fame(s) for Coach Brown) hall of fame coach Jim Brown. Jeff Reynolds from Jim Brown's 1984-1985 team also attended.
Bernard Hopkins, who is the currently the Hagerstown CC Head Men's Basketball coach, joined his teammate Ozzie Smith-Bey for the halftime recognition representing the 1992-1993 team.
Patrick Lee (1993-1995), Peray Cole (2007-2009) and Xavier Frink (2016-1017), also past men's basketball players, were in attendance for the halftime recognition and post-game reception as well.
HCC Athletic Director, Bob Rohan, along with Mike Gehr, President of the Hawks Booster Club, and past HCC Head Volleyball, Head Women's Basketball and Hall of Famer, Dr. Marlys Palmer, all spoke at the reception.
