Mother Nature forces ICC-Hinds match to be cancelled

RAYMOND, Miss. – Mother Nature ultimately won the day when the Indians and Eagles met up on Saturday.

The Indians were trailing 4-3, when rain and lightning forced the coaches to cancel the remaining matches with Hayden Embry and Brody Clayton picking up a 6-2 win in the first set of their No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches.

Neither team was credited with the overall victory with the final matches going unfinished, but the matches that were completed will go towards their individual records.

Sergio Garcia-Uruena and Reese Duncan picked up an 8-6 win over Bryce Livingston and Chris Adams in No. 2 doubles action.

Franco Roldan battled to a hard-fought finish to defeat Carlos Trujillo 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7) in No. 1 singles. In No. 4 singles, Zak Keith knocked off Livingston 6-3, 6-3 for the Indians third win on the day.

It was the Indians second event of the day after picking up an 8-1 win over Co-Lin in the morning.
