Genesee Wins Region III Championship With Victory over Hudson Valley

SYRACUSE, NY… The nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men's lacrosse team defeated the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings 22-2 Saturday afternoon to win the program's eighth NJCAA Region III Championship.

The Cougars got balanced offense from throughout their lineup. Timothy Martino led the way with four goals and four assists. Jason Chiodo scored three goals and three assists. Austin Palmer scored four goals. Kyle Isaacs and Zach Wade each had two goals and two assists. Darcey Redeye scored a goal and had three helpers. Konner Sunday scored two goals and an assist. Jake Smeader scored two goals, one assist and had seven groundballs. Samuel Koczwara scored a goal as did Dante David. Ken Cook had an assist.

Anthony Diamico went 22/27 on faceoffs and had 13 groundballs. Lincoln Potter made seven saves in net, one goal, and played three quarters. Max Henchbarger played one-quarter of action and gave up a goal.

Jake Smeader and Timothy Martino were named to the All-Region team. With the victory, Genesee will be playing in the NJCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championships.
