Cross country teams ranked
Women jump to 2nd, men to 8th
After beginning the season unranked, the Colby Community College women's cross country team moved to second and the men's team to eighth in the week two United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division I cross country polls.
The Trojan women placed third overall and were the top two-year school at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational last Saturday in Lincoln, Neb. Abigael Kemboi earned the individual title with a time of 18:09.8, with Regan Hodsden (19:07.5) finishing 10th.
The men's team was fifth at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational on a four-mile course. Robert Cheruiyot's sixth-place time of 20:42.9 led Colby, and Micah Too ran a 21:18.4 for 13th place.
Both teams have a break from competition before the Fort Hays State Tiger Open on Oct. 10 in Victoria.
