Football moves to 3-0

Last Saturday Louisburg College football took on Ramah Prep out of Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Hurricanes hosted at Louisburg High School and won the contest 42-0.

Coach Chris Tolbert commented, "It was an outstanding effort by our team on Saturday. The offense had over 200 yards running the ball and our defense allowed under 20 yards of total offense." 

James Lewis was 4-6 passing with 58 yards and a touchdown. Hezekiah Newby had 9 rushing attempts for 61 yards and a touchdown. Deandre Wright added 7 rushing attempts for 38 yards. Lionel Long also caught two passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Christian Franklin had an interception for 41 yards and a touchdown. Jordan King 6 tackles a half sack. James Gorham 5 tackles and a half sack.

Also, Damonte Furman had a 90-yard kickoff return nullified by a penalty.

"It was our first home game of the season and the students and families were incredible," said Coach Tolbert. "They definitely brought the energy level up for our guys. We really appreciate them coming out to cheer us on!"

The win takes the Hurricanes to a 3-0 season record. Football will take the field in Columbia, South Carolina at 3 pm Saturday to play Georgia Military College.
