Golden Eagles Pick Up Road Win at WWCC

ROCK SPRINGS – The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles women's basketball team picked up a road win Wednesday night against Western Wyoming Community College 83-69.

Ja'Kia Wells (Mesquite, Texas) led all scorers with 20 points, six rebounds and steal. Four other Golden Eagles were in double figures scoring as Karli O'Brien (Rapid City, South Dakota) had 16 points, Gabi O'Connor (Colorado Springs, Colorado) added 15 points, Courtney Walker (Las Vegas, Nevada) had 14 points and Haylie Anderson (Clearfield, Utah) chipped in with 11 points. O'Brien led the group on the boards with seven in the game.

As a team the Golden Eagles shot 27-of-53 from the field for 50.9 percent, 10-of-22 from beyond the arc for 45.5 percent and 19-of-28 from the free throw line for 67.9 percent.

The LCCC Golden Eagles will back in action at the RAC on Saturday February 16th as they take on Gillette College. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
