The Hudson Valley Community College women's tennis team fought hard against Herkimer, but dropped the match 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon at the Hudson Valley tennis courts on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.

The Vikings entered the match short-changed with only four student-athletes ready to compete. In the six matches played, the Vikings and Generals split as Hudson Valley earned wins in at No. 1 and No. 2 singles and the No. 1 doubles. 

Emma Nuzzi earned her first win of the season as the Vikings top-seed. She defeated Monica Hartlieb in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Isabella Guyer also earned her first win of the season at No. 2 singles as she defeated Lynn Wright in straight sets 6-1, 6-0. 

The top duo of Nuzzi/Guyer remained undefeated in the early season after defeating Hartlieb and Wright by a score of 8-5. 

The women's tennis program is back home on Friday, October 1 when they host Mohawk Valley at 4 p.m. at the tennis courts on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College.
