Passaic County Downs UCAP in Offensive Showcase

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Passaic County Community College (NJ) and UConn-Avery Point (CT) lit up the scoreboard in their national tournament matchup on Friday afternoon, with the 7th seeded Panthers downing the #6 Pointers, 106-96.  

Passaic jumped out to a 61-35 halftime lead, but had to hold on down the stretch as the Pointers cut the margin to 6 points with just over a minute to play.

The Panthers had four players in double figures, led by Jada Camacho with 28, while Kathy Davis recorded a triple-double with 25 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. 

The Panthers shot 54% from the field and out-rebounded the Pointers 54-45 in the high-scoring affair. 

Mia Brennan, the nation's leading scorer, had 46 points for UConn-Avery Point, while Rebekah Sanders added 19 points and 12 rebounds. 

Passaic will face #4 Hibbing (MN) in the 5th place game on Saturday at 2pm, while UCAP will take on #8 Anne Arundel (MD) in the 7th place game at noon.
