Men's Basketball Beats Fond du Lac, Falls to CLC

The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team built a 29 point first half lead en route to a 93-77 win over Fond du Lac on Friday evening.

The Golden Rams jumped out 7-0 to start the game and used a 15-0 run to eventually lead 45-16 with six minutes to play in the first half.

Fond du Lac closed to within 54-29 at halftime, and Anoka-Ramsey led 66-33 just two minutes into the second half before Fond du Lac rallied.

The Thunder went on a 15-3 run to close within 69-48, then a 16-6 run pulled the score to 75-64 with eight minutes to play.  Anoka-Ramsey used a late 7-0 run to provide more cushion before going on to win.

Five Golden Rams scored in double figures led by 15 points from Josiah Remus-FordDevin Wade-Henderson scored 14 to go with 11 rebounds, and Ousseynou Ngom, Elijah Mead, and Terrell Fountain each had 11 points.  Ngom also had a team-high 14 rebounds.

The Golden Rams out-rebounded the Thunder 63-42.

On Saturday, Anoka-Ramsey had a rematch with Central Lakes who had beaten them the previous week, and fell 71-54 in a defensive battle.

Neither team could generate much offense in the first half, with the Raiders taking a 26-23 lead into halftime.

Wade-Henderson gave Anoka-Ramsey a 30-28 lead early in the second half, and a jumper by Fountain kept the Golden Rams in front 34-33 before Central Lakes used a 14-2 run to take a 47-36 lead.

Anoka-Ramsey got back within seven points, but the Raiders went on a 22-8 run to put the game away.

The Golden Rams turned the ball over 20 times and shot just 28.8 percent overall.

Wade-Henderson scored 17 points, with Fountain adding ten.

Anoka-Ramsey drops to 4-3 overall, and will travel to Hibbing on December 10.
