Men's tennis wins eighth consecutive national championship

Chattanooga, Tenn. - For the eighth straight year, the Emory Oxford Eagles are national champions in tennis.

The Eagles scored 36 points at the 2024 NJCAA Division III Men's National Championship to win their 11th title overall. They claimed each flight in singles and doubles, the second consecutive year the team has been able to accomplish this difficult achievement. 

In singles, sophomore Peter Tracy and freshman Benjamin Xi dominated their opponents both by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Tracy faced Ocean County College's John Willis, while Xi faced Ocean County's Adam Grelak. In flight 3, freshman Daniel Bernard defeated Ocean County's Sebastian Ferrer 6-4, 6-3. Flights 4 and 5 were easily won by Emory Oxford. Sophomore Ewan Kim defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-1, while freshman Elliot Li won 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Asher Seibel battled in flight 6, but came out with the victory (6-1, 4-6, 6-3).

For doubles, the duos of Kim/Tracy, Bernard/Xi and freshman Cameron Eltoft/Li teamed up to sweep all three flights.

The following Eagles were named NJCAA All-Americans for the first time, as there were no returners from last season:

First-year head coach Jonathan Bennett was also named Coach of the Tournament.
