The Lady Greenjays erupted for 28 first-quarter points including five three-pointers while the Lady Greyhounds struggled to score just 11 points in the period. The hole proved to be a bit too big to dig out of as Jackson State led 41-30 at the half, then kept ASU Mid-South at arm's length as the Lady Greyhounds couldn't get closer than 7 the rest of the way.
Jackson State had the rebounding edge, 42-40, but the Lady Greyhounds held the visitors to 40.8% shooting while converting at 44.1%. However, 22 turnovers proved costly as the Lady Greenjays coughed up just 11.
Alindavia Lockett led ASU Mid-South (4-6) with 20 points and 9 rebounds while Cierra Penn finished with 11 points and 6 boards. Adrianne Chambers and Jaquita Caldwell both chipped in 8 points.
The Lady Greyhounds remain at home for their final two games of 2019, hosting Northeast Mississippi Thursday at 5:30pm and Mississippi Delta Saturday at 2:00pm.
