
NIACC women place 2nd at Trent Smith Invite
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's cross country team placed second at the sixth annual Trent Smith Invitational on Friday with 51 points.
DMACC was the women's team champion with 30 points and Waldorf University was third with 64 points.
Freshman Juliana Droll led the Trojans with a fifth-place finish in a time of 21 minutes, 18 seconds on the 5-kilometer course on the NIACC campus.
Lacey Wolfram, running unattached, was the women's individual champion in a time of 19:47. DMACC's Grace Collins was second in 20:44 and the Bears' Kayden Spencer was third in 20:44.
NIACC's Sarah Lunning was 11th in a time of 22:27. The Trojans' Taja Conley was 12th (22:29), Skyila Shuryan was 13th (22:36) and Hannah Lunning was 15th (22:46).
Also for the Trojans, Cloey Usher was 18th (22:58), Riley DeGonia was 19th (24:40) and RaeLynn Nash was 23rd (25:41).
NIACC returns to action Sept. 22 at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
