Courbot and Carrillo lead Barton Swimming #GoBarton

Barton Swimming results at Virtual Meet #3

The Barton Community College swimming programs returned to the Barton pool this past weekend with a double virtual dual against South Georgia State College and Southwestern Oregon Community College.

The Cougar men split their duals, scoring a 177-53 win over South Georgia State College while dropping a 136-119 battle to Southwestern Oregon Community College. The shorthanded women's squad fell in both contests coming up short 60-43 to South Georgia State and dropping a 176-38 tilt with Southwestern Oregon Community College.

Women's Recap
Fanny Courbot highlighted the women's squad performances with three victories, taking the 50 breaststroke in 32.56, the 50 freestyle in 27.75 before concluding her final event with the quickest time of 1:12.35 in the 100 breaststroke.

Teammate Sophia Ortiz swam to new personal and season best times in the 100 freestyle (1:02.88) earning runner-up honors while marking the third fastest time in the 50 freestyle (27.98).

Barton will return to the pool March 6th when they host Iowa Central Community College in a single team dual.

Men's Recap
On the men's side, four different Cougars swam to individual crowns while setting 17 season best marks, 10 personal best results and nine new top-10 school times. Johan Cue Carrillo led the Barton charge with titles in the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke. Carrillo turned in a pair of top-10 program times with a second best mark in the 50 breaststroke (25.38) while notching the fourth best time in the 100 breaststroke (58.25).

Other event winners included Kacper Mayerberg leading a third and fifth place finish in the 1000 freestyle with Isaiah Auld and Mykael White as Mayerberg's 10:19.60 reached a seasons best time.

Additional first touch winners were Nikolas Ioannides taking the 200 freestyle in 1:47.89 and Justus Hampton's winning 50 freestyle time of 22.78.
