YUMA, Ariz. (Oct. 27, 2018) -- In a rare afternoon matchup, the eighth-ranked Snow College football team overcame a 10-7 halftime deficit to record a 31-10 victory over No. 11 Arizona Western on Saturday. The Badgers trailed 10-7 at the half, but posted 24 points in the second half to pick up the win and move in to a tie with Eastern Arizona for second place in the league standings.

Braxton Kerr with 6:27 remaining in the third quarter. Early in the fourth quarter, Simote Loktui picked up a Western Arizona fumble and ran it back for an 86-yard touchdown to give Snow a 21-10 lead with 13:31 left in the game. A few minutes later,
James Baird connected on a 30-yard field goal to cap a six-play, 42-yard drive and give the Badgers a 24-10 lead with 5:26 remaining. With just over two minutes left in the game,
Jaylen Warren busted lose for a 46-yard touchdown run to seal the victory.
Warren finished with a game-high 131 yards rushing on 19 carries, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. Kerr was 18-for-25 for 169 yards passing and two touchdown completions. Wright was the leading receiver for the Badgers with three receptions for 58 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively,
Noa Purcell led the Badgers with 8.5 tackles, including two tackles for loss.
Leon Morgan and Alton Jones each had an interception in the game. Morgan and Purcell each led the team with six solo tackles.
The Badgers will take on league-leading Pima on Saturday in Ephraim, beginning at 7 p.m. A Snow College victory would move the Badgers in to first place with one more crucial game against Arizona Western the following weekend.
