Wasson, Schwingle Lead Chargers in Klocke Family Classic
MARION, Iowa — Ellie Wasson and Olivia Schwingle each tied for 36th for the Carl Sandburg College women's golf team in a wet weekend at the Klocke Family Classic hosted by Mount Mercy at Hunters Ridge.
Schwingle opened with a first-round 93, while Wasson, coming off a 79 in the Chargers' previous outing, shot a 93 in Sunday's final round as each finished with a 195 total for the tournament.
Sophomore Anna Duden shot an even 200 to placed 43rd for Sandburg, and freshman Griffin Skees, playing as an individual, was 44th with a 203 over 36 holes.
The Chargers totaled a 402 in the first round and 407 in the final round to take 11th in a field comprised entirely of four-year programs. The host Mustangs had a 668 total to win by 12 shots over runner-up Park.
