RedTail Men’s Golf Takes 4th at Region Preview

The RedTails competed in the Region Preview in Waterloo on Wednesday, September 13, shooting an overall team score of 296.
Kaeden Anderson tied for ninth place, shooting a 72. Triston Sorgenfrey shot a total of 73, tying for 13th and Will Steege was just two strokes behind him shooting 75 and tying for 21st. Emil Christensen wasn't far behind Sorgenfrey and Steege, shooting 76 and tying for 24th.
The individual competitors were also very close in scores and placements. Bodie Goddard tied for 35th, shooting a total of 79. Oskar Kahr was one stroke behind Goddard tying for 43rd with a score of 80 and Mauricio Jimenez tied for 45th, shooting a score of 81. Ethan Yu shot 82 and tied for 48th and Nash Arbuckle tied for 51st with a score of 83. Drew Jones shot a score of 91 and placed 55th.
Head coach Micah Destival had some positive words after the meet.
"We couldn't ask for a better day to play golf as the conditions were perfect," he said. "We played much better today and with a few better shots we could have had a very special day." "It was nice to see where we stack up against the other teams in our district at this point in the year."
The RedTails next matchup is Friday and Saturday, September 15-16, for the Battle of Waterloo at the Irv Warren Golf Course.
