RedTail Men’s Soccer Wins Thriller in Double OT

MARSHALLTOWN-The RedTail Men's Soccer team stole a thrilling 2-1 match over Marshalltown Community College that went into double overtime on Saturday, April 10.

The RedTails came out firing, with an unassisted goal from sophomore Jayce Berger. After regulation ended with a hard fought 1-1 tie, the teams geared up for the overtime period. The tie was not broken until the second overtime, when Conal Burnett assisted Gonzalo Ramos to win it for the RedTails.

"I thought the boys did really well, [as] we outplayed #7 Marshalltown for the vast majority of the game. Once we got into overtime, I had real confidence in our boys, [as] they still had energy left to give," said head coach Leo Driscoll. "It was a great moment for freshman Gonzalo Ramos and we hope he builds from this positivity and continues to be an influence for this team. "

The RedTails will look to extend their two-game win streak when they take on Indian Hills Community College at home on Tuesday, April 13.
