The Hudson Valley Community College men's and women's golf teams played extremely well at the Adirondack Golf Invitational at the Hiland Park Country Club on Saturday afternoon in Queensbury, NY.
As a team, the men's best-four team score was a 337, which placed them fourth overall in the team standings out of nine teams. Lane Jenkins improved four strokes from yesterday's match at Mohawk Valley and earned a second-place finish, shooting 73 over the 18-hole tournament.
Markham Daly had a big improved from yesterday, he finished the Adirondack Invitational with an 86, which is nine strokes better. Sam Fair continued to shoot below 90 as he scored an 88, which joins Jenkins with a pair of sub-90 scores, which places them one more sub-90 round away from securing an berth in the Region 3 Championships.
For the women's team, Sierra Yetto saw a 16-stroke improvement as she finished the day with a 116. Yesterday at the Mohawk Valley Invitational, she posted a 132 and her improvement will only build upon her confidence as the season continues and she strives to compete for a Region 3 title.
