Grizzly runners continue to succeed at Frank Sevigne Invitational

The Butler Grizzlies had another successful day at the track as they traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska and the campus of the University of Nebraska for the 2023 Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational on Saturday.

It was Nazzio John who stole the show, placing first in both the 60 meter prelims and the 60 meter finals. John narrowly beat teammate Shawn Brown who finished second. John finished with a winning time of 6.67 while Brown finished with a time of 6.75. Brown found victory in the 200 meters, winning the race with a finish of 20.90. Teammate La'danian Hendrix finished in fourth in the 200 meters, with a time of 21.86. 

Meanwhile, in the 800 meters, it was Zach Trotter who led the Grizzlies, finishing fourth with a time of 1:51.37. Wail Bourahli was neck and neck with Trotter as he finished fifth, with a time of 1:51.43. 

On the women's side, Khloi Bird had a nice day, as she finished 13th in the 3000m, coming in at 10:54.79. Bird also raced in the 1 Mile race and came in at 25th with a time of 5:23.91. 

On the field side, Butler's Braylon Buchanon placed inside the top 10 in the High Jump, with a jump of 1.91 meters. Buchanon also finished 12th in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.81 meters.

Next up for the Grizzlies will be a trip to Topeka, Kansas next Saturday for the Ichabod Invitational on the campus of Washburn University.
