The Tompkins Cortland Community College lacrosse team secured a winning season with a 15-7 win over Elmira College Wednesday. The win over the NCAA Division III team moves the Panthers to 4-2 on the season. With one game left on the schedule, the Panthers are guaranteed a winning record for the fourth time in the last five years.

The Panthers dominated in time of possession, thanks in large part to Skylar Running Rabbit (Siksika Nation/Strathmore H.S.) winning every face off in the first half and 16 of 22 for the game. The offense took advantage, setting the tone with three goals in the opening four minutes of play and a 5-2 lead after the first quarter. Each team scored twice in the second quarter before the Panthers blew it open with a 7-1 advantage in the third quarter to take a 14-5 lead into the final quarter.

Seven Panthers got in on the scoring, led by 4 goals and 2 assists from Ryan Pritchard (Montrose/Hendrick Hudson H.S.). Alan Porter-Jackson (Buchanan/Hendrick Hudson H.S.) also pumped in 4 goals, adding 1 assist. Ethan Hicks (Dryden/Dryden H.S.), Joey Shufelt (Dryden/Dryden H.S.), and Julian Mangino (Ithaca/Ithaca H.S.) each had 2 goals, with Hicks also collecting 1 assist. Avery Watson (Watkins Glen/Watkins Glen H.S.) had a goal and an assist and Zach Mallory (Homer/Homer H.S.) had an assist to round out the scoring column.

Kirkland Case (Cortland/Kirkland H.S.) started the game in goal, giving way to Declan Fullerton (Westchester/Walter Panas H.S.) after the first quarter. The pair combined for 12 saves.
