Hurricane football suffer home loss to ASA Brooklyn over the weekend

Louisburg College Football hosted their last home game of the season this Sunday against ASA Brooklyn. The game ended in a 49-7 loss for the Hurricanes.

ASA Brooklyn's first score came on a 19-yard pass with 10:16 to go in the 1stquarter. The Hurricanes then countered with a touchdown of their own on a 19-yard pass from Nate Harden to Jayland Moore

With under 7:00 to go in the 2ndquarter the Hurricanes defense intercepted an ASA Brooklyn pass in the end zone, but the touchback was called back due to a roughing the passer penalty. ASA Brooklyn went on to score on the drive. They subsequently scored 14 points each quarter in the second half. 

According to assistant coach Jonathan Hodges, "ASA is a very talented team that played physically on both sides of the ball. I'm proud of the effort our guys played with for three quarters but we ran out of steam in the fourth quarter and let mental mistakes get the better of us."

Louisburg had 17 first downs to ASA Brooklyn's 26. Louisburg had 17 completions on the day. The passing game was comparable for both teams, but ASA Brooklyn out rushed the Hurricanes by 209 yards.

The Hurricanes play their last game of the season this Saturday, November 9 at Morehead State University against College of DuPage. Kickoff is at noon.
