It was a dominating day for the Warriors as ECCC defeated Southwest 8-1. The win marks the fourth straight win for the Warriors.
"It was a solid road victory in some windy conditions and our guys played through hit," said ECCC head coach Jay Pacelli. "The Bears pushed us in several matches, but we remained up to the challenge."
Chris Lawrance (York, Australia) and Isaac Santitto (Innisfail, Australia) made a quick outing at No. 1 doubles with an 8-0 win, while Chris Albert (Vicksburg) and Ian Gordon (Vicksburg) picked up a win at No. 2 doubles, 8-4. Garrett Crimm (Mathiston) and Steed Springfield (Vicksburg) dropped a match at No. 3 doubles 9-8 after a tiebreaker.
In singles play the Warriors swept the board to secure the win. Most of the matches were handily won by the Warriors and Gordon gutted out a tough match at No. 4, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
