Wolves Grab Win at TJC Spring Break Invitational

TYLER, Texas – The Co-Lin Men's Tennis team played in four matches over the weekend while participating in the Tyler Junior College Spring Break Invitational. The Wolves faced four nationally ranked opponents as they dropped matches against No. 6 Collin and No. 11 Weatherford, 0-9 and 3-6, respectively on Friday, March 14. The Wolves then rebounded and beat No. 16 Jacksonville, 5-4, then lost to No. 7 Seward, 2-7.

In the doubles matches, Ege Altas (Istanbul, Turkey) and Jake Bucek (Geelong, Australia) dropped one doubles, 2-8, while Tristin Rollins (Brookhaven) and Robert Adcock (Brookhaven) dropped two doubles, 0-8, with Mason Brand (Mantee) and Simon Cooper (Sumrall) dropping three doubles, 3-8.

In the singles matches, Altas dropped one singles, 1-6 and 0-6, while Bucek lost two singles, 1-6 and 3-6. Adcock, Brand, and Cooper lost three, four, and five singles respectively with identical, 0-6 and 1-6 set scores. Jax Leggett (Bogue Chitto) dropped six singles with two 0-6 sets.

In the doubles matches, the Wolves picked up one points as Altas and Bucek won one doubles, 8-4. Rollins and Adcock dropped two doubles, 3-8, while Cooper and Brand dropped three doubles, 4-8.

In the singles matches, the Wolves other two points came in the first two pairings as Altas won one singles, 1-6 7-6(3) 10-8, while Bucek won two singles, 6-3 and 7-5. Adcock dropped three singles with two 1-6 sets while Brand dropped four singles at 2-6 and 0-6. Cooper fell at five singles, 0-6 and 1-6, with Leggett losing at six singles, 2-6 and 0-6.

In the doubles matches, the Wolves grabbed a pair of points as Altas and Bucek won at one doubles, 8-2, while Rollins and Leggett picked up a default win at three doubles. Brand and Cooper dropped two doubles, 5-8.

In the singles matches, the teams split the six pairings as Altas dropped one singles, 6(4)-7 and 4-6, while Adcock dropped three singles, 3-6 6(4)-7, with Brand falling at four singles, 4-6 and 3-6. The three wins for the Wolves came with Bucek taking two singles, 6-3 and 6-1, Leggett taking five singles, 6-4 and 3-6, while Rollins picked up a default win in six singles.

In the doubles matches, Altas and Bucek dropped one doubles, 5-8, while Rollins and Adcock fell at two doubles, 0-8, with Cooper and Brand losing three doubles, 2-8.

The Wolves got their two points in the singles matches as they took the first two pairings with Altas winning one singles, 6-1 and 7-5, while Bucek took two singles, 6-4 3-6 1-0(7). Adcock dropped three with a pair of 0-6 sets while Brand dropped four singles, 1-6 and 0-6. Leggett lost five singles with two 1-6 sets while Rollins lost six singles, 1-6 and 2-6.

Co-Lin is now 4-7 overall and will return to MACCC play by hosting Holmes on Tuesday, March 18 at 2 p.m.
