Pioneers Drop Doubleheader to Bay College

Delta College baseball dropped both ends of Sunday's doubleheader against Bay College, falling 10–8 in the opener and 9–4 in Game 2. Despite showing flashes of offensive firepower, the Pioneers were unable to contain Bay's late-inning surges in both contests.

Game 1: Bay 10, Delta 8
Delta jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and led 7–3 through five innings, but Bay responded with seven runs over the final four frames—including a three-run ninth—to complete the comeback.

Caiden Larkin led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Calvin Gouin added a hit and scored twice, while Mason Mellott reached base three times. Layke Hornung, Nathan Whitney, and Mason Beaver all saw action on the mound, with Whitney striking out six over five innings of work.

Game 2: Bay 9, Delta 4
The Pioneers found themselves in a tight battle through four innings before Bay erupted for seven runs in the sixth to pull away. Delta had its biggest offensive frame in the fifth, plating four runs to briefly cut into the deficit.

Layke Hornung stayed hot at the plate with two hits, while David Walsh and Dylan Rodriguez each drove in a run. Jake Chapman reached base twice, and Ayden Wilkes added a hit and two stolen bases. Caleb Milbrandt recorded four strikeouts in five innings on the mound.

Delta returns to action looking to regroup and bounce back in its next outing.
