#11 Softball Sweeps #15 Weatherford

BULLARD — Mckenzie Peet walked to drive in the winning run as No. 11 Tyler Junior College rallied for a 7-6 win and a sweep of a softball doubleheader over No. 15 Weatherford College on Friday at Schwab Field.
TJC (7-1) won the first game, 6-1.
The Apache Ladies next play on Feb. 16 in the Weatherford Tournament (2 p.m. vs. Howard, 6 p.m. vs. Cowley, Kansas).
TJC 6, WEATHERFORD 1
Abbie Dart (3-1) tossed a six-hitter while striking out seven in hurling TJC to the first game win.
Rebecca Snow belted a home run to lead the offensive attack and Shelbi Court added a double.
Snow also added a single with Court knocking in a run.
Courtnie Heller had two hits, while Jaden Lance and Kaycie Moore contributed singles.
Heller and Lance added RBIs.
Morgan Page had a homer for the Lady Coyotes. Kalina Sato had two hits with Francine Garcia, Kristeny Magallanes and Allie Arnold adding singles.
TJC 7, WEATHERFORD 6
After the Lady Coyotes scored six runs in the seventh to take a 6-4 lead, the Apache Ladies plated three in the bottom half of the innings to take the win.
After one out in the seventh, Magallances, Analiese Galdeano, Morgan Page and Rowlee Johnson all had singles and TJC committed two errors as the Lady Coyotes went ahead.
TJC responded in the seventh. Briana Paysinger walked to open the inning, followed by a single from Makenzie Goswick and a Court double to bring in Paysinger and Goswick to tie the game at 6-6.
Court advanced to third on the throw to the plate. After an out and a single by Lance, Moore walked to load the bases.
Peet then walked on five pitches to bring home the winning run.
Court had two RBIs with Paysinger, Lance, Peet and Gayler adding one each.
