
(April 25, 2025) Mena, Arkansas - After three straight series losses, the Bucks find themselves fighting for their postseason hopes with two region series left. The men started a 4-game series this afternoon against Western Oklahoma at Union Bank Field. The Bucks and Pioneers have a lot of history of good baseball between both programs.
The Bucks were able to get it done this afternoon with a pair of wins: 6-3 and 7-6. The men are now 22-25 overall, but more importantly, 7-11 in region play.
Shelby Anders (Baton Rouge, LA) got the walk-off hit in the second game to give the Bucks the win. The men fought back down 3-0 and found a way to get both wins.
The Bucks scored their 13 runs on 24 hits. Jack Bilski recorded a pair of doubles on the afternoon with 2 RBIs, while Dylan Gibson (Springdale, AR) recorded a triple and scored the winning run in the walk-off win. Cody Hayes (Mildred, TX) had the biggest swing of the day with a 2-run bomb over the left centerfield wall that sparked the Bucks 6-run inning in the bottom of the 8th. The sophomore drove in 3-runs on the day.
Ethan Diaz (Lake Minneola, FL) pitched 6.0 innings in the 6-3 win. Diaz (4-6) gave up 2 unearned runs on 6 hits and struck out 3.
The Bucks used three pitchers in the second game. Trapper Golden (Hughes Springs, AR) got the start and lasted 4.0 innings in the no decision, giving up 0 runs. Camden Farmer (Paragould, AR) went 4.0 innings, while Corbin Miller (Spiro, OK) pitched the final innings to get the win. Miller (3-2) came on in the save situation, but he would get credited with the win.
The Bucks and Pioneers will now play on Saturday at 11 am & 1:30 pm to conclude the series at Union Bank Field.
