West Plains, MO. The No. 2 ranked Reiver Volleyball team continues their winning streak after defeating No. 17 ranked, Missouri State- West Plains on Saturday. The Reivers remained strong and persistent throughout the whole game, dominating the Grizzlies in straight sets (31-29, 25-17 and 25-12).
Setter, Hina Pua'a, set up the offense for success scoring 37 assists. Irina Alekseeva and Kortlyn Henderson teamed up to combine for 28 of the 45 team total kills. On the other hand freshman, Genesis Sheridan, had a phenomenal night scoring 10 kills out of 17 attempts and no errors for an impressive hitting efficiency of .588. Defensively the Reivers were all over the floor trying to keep the ball alive, picking up 55 team total digs. Ariana Macies contributed 11 digs to lead the team, while Alekseeva finished second with 10.
Next up for the Reivers is their second conference match at Marshalltown, IA on September 12th at 7pm.
