Nine Players Score in Men's Lacrosse Romp Over CSM

ARNOLD, MD – Nine different Riverhawks scored as the Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team powered past visiting College of Southern Maryland Sunday, defeating the Hawks, 27-3. Sam Weisshaar and Trevor Collier led AACC with six goals and two assists each.

Francis O'Hara added five goals, while John Thibodeau added four goals and an assist. Nick Barton recorded a pair of goals and two assists. Defenseman Jacob Kotelchuck scored a goal and assisted another, while fellow pole Niles Tinsley also scored.

AACC scored the first 12 goals of the game, potting nine in the first quarter alone. The Riverhawks then went on a six-goal run spanning the second and third quarters, scoring the first five goals of the second half.

Another seven-goal run spanned the third and fourth frames, and AACC closed out the game with back-to-back goals.

Conner Westervelt made five saves in the first half. Griffin Tucker stopped three shots in the third quarter, and Kolby Hood faced one shot in the fourth. 

The Riverhawks recorded 19 caused turnovers for the second-straight game, while recording a season-high 60 groundballs. AACC won 23 of 33 faceoffs in the game, paced by a 16 of 24 effort from Mark Kelm. Bobby Ruel went 7 for 9.

AACC hosts Carroll Community College Wednesday in a 5 pm game before traveling to No. 4 Howard Saturday at noon.
