NCCC comes up empty at TC Pod

Niagara County Community College lost all three of its contests at this past weekend's Region III pod hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College. The Thunderwolves are now 3-13 on the season with their final Western New York Athletic Conference matchup set for 6 p.m. Tues. Oct. 15 at Genesee Community College.

Corning CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 17-16-10

Freshman Allysa Prytula had four kills and three digs in the straight-set loss. Sophomore Maddie Phillips finished with eight digs and two service aces and classmate McKenna Collignon notched nine assists.

SUNY Broome 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 17-17-18

Phillips led the offense with seven kills and nine digs in the three-set setback. Sophomore Jessica Cruz-Jackson added four kills and seven digs, Collignon racked up 14 assists and freshman Brooke Wisor had 16 digs off the bench.

Tompkins-Cortland CC 25-26-19-7-15, Niagara CCC 16-24-25-25-7

Freshman Jenn Myers had a career-best 11 kills, but it wasn't enough as NCCC lost a five-set heartbreaker. Phillips ripped 10 kills to go with seven digs and four aces and Cruz-Jackson had seven kills, 11 digs and seven aces. Wisor added 16 digs and six assists, Collignon had 22 assists and sophomore Haley Freeburger chipped in with seven kills.
