Lady Wildcats Tip-Off Season at the Mon-Dak Pre-Season Conference Tournament
The NDSCS Women's basketball team opened their season with a 2-1 start this past weekend at the Mon-Dak Pre-Season Conference Tournament held Nov. 1-4 at the 4 Bears Event Center in New Town, ND.

The NDSCS Women's basketball team opened their season with a 2-1 start this past weekend at the Mon-Dak Pre-Season Conference Tournament held Nov. 1-4 at the 4 Bears Event Center in New Town, ND.
The Wildcats lost their first game to Miles Community College 71-49 who just joined the Mon-Dak Conference this season. Sophomore Lauren Johnson led NDSCS with 12 points and five rebounds. Justyna Butler also grabbed five rebounds.
NDSCS were back in action for their second day of the tournament matching up against United Tribes TC on Saturday, November 3. With only a six-point lead after the first quarter, NDSCS dominated the second quarter outscoring Tribes 28-11 pushing the lead to 45-22 at half.
Four Wildcats scored in double digits against the Thunderbirds. Sophomore Olivia Bell dominated the paint with 13 points and nine rebounds. Freshmen Nikki Metcalfe and Dalyn Henderson also contributed with 16 points and 11 points, while Lauren Johnson chipped in 10 points. NDSCS lead the paint with 49 rebounds and capped off the day with an 81-48 victory.
In their final game of the tournament, against Dakota College Bottineau, freshman Monique Wooten led the offense with 13 points while point guard Jolisa Ross added 11 points. Post players Olivia Bell and Nikki Metcalfe both added seven rebounds. The Wildcats took the game 62-52 to round out the weekend in New Town, ND.
The Wildcats still control their own destiny in the conference, but now must focus on non-conference competition before conference play begins in January.
NDSCS returns to action Tuesday, November 13 when they host Minnesota State - Fergus Falls with a 5:30 pm start.
