Wells, Punter spark No. 7 Apaches
Shahada Wells scored 15 of his 18 points in the first half to spark the No. 7 Tyler Junior College Apaches to an 86-55 win over Paris Junior College on Saturday in Paris.
Wells was one of four Apaches (22-1, 14-1) hitting in double figures. Kieffer Punter, who hit four 3-pointers, added 18 points, followed by native Tylerites Jackson Kennedy and Scottie Turner with 10 points apiece.
DeAndre Heckard dished out nine assists with Turner adding six. Rory Pantophlet led TJC with 10 rebounds.
Others scoring for Tyler were Jason Bush Jr. (9), Pantophlet (8), Malik Lawrence-Anderson (6), Heckard (5), Ryan Walls (2).
