DCC Track and Field Begin Indoor Track Season
The Buccaneers opened up their indoor track and field season at the University of Mary this weekend at the Marauder Opener Meet. Coach Alex Chase Wolff said, "I was excited to get some marks and numbers to our team prior to leaving campus for winter break, and they did not disappoint."
On the men's side multiple scoring places were taken by DCC athletes. Beginning in the 60m dash, Dilen Barrington-Miller placed 7th in finals with a time of 7.25. This was followed by a 2nd place finish for James Springer with a personal best time of 2:06. Eniah Boseman raced in the 600m and placed 6th overall. Connor Chase raced in the 3000m where he also placed 6th with a new personal best. Mark Haas and Robby Gress went 5 and 6 in the 60m hurdles, and Dilen Barrington-Miller, Skyler Rains, and Chase Keating went 5, 7 and 8 for the 200m dash final placing. Chase Keating also placed 2nd in both the high jump and the long jump.
On the women's side Chaneille Richardson began her debut on the track with a 60m dash race where she placed 3rd with an opening season time of 7.98. SHe followed up this performance with a 10th place finish in the 200m. Emberlyn Hoffman-Gaschk and Lauren Rodacker both raced in the 600m for their indoor track debut as well, where Emberlyn placed 5th with a time of 1:48 and Lauren placed 7th with a time of 1:52.
Coach Alex Chase Wolff said, I am excited to watch us continue to grow and improve over the indoor season. This was a great opportunity to see where we were at, and now it's time to get to work over the winter break before we come back to race in January!"
