Eastern Arizona College Finishes 4th at Coyote Invitational

Eastern Arizona College's men's golf team wrapped up a strong showing at the Chandler-Gilbert CC Coyote Invitational, finishing in fourth place after two days of competition.

After the first round, the Gila Monsters sat in solo third, posting a team score of +13. Sophomores Adrian Raya and Fernando Jimenez led the way, each carding a 74 (+2), while Dharit Iemkanitchat added a 75 (+3). Derek McCoy (78, +6) and Mark McLeod (79, +7) rounded out the team score, with individual competitor Adrian Perez finishing with an 82 (+10).

EAC entered the final round just three shots behind second-place Chandler-Gilbert CC and nine shots back of leader South Mountain CC. However, despite their strong start, the Gila Monsters fell just short, finishing in fourth place overall.

Raya and Jimenez continued to be the team's standout performers, both delivering impressive final rounds. Raya finished third individually with a two-day total of 143 (-1), while Jimenez secured fourth place with a total score of 144 (even par).

With the Coyote Invitational in the books, EAC now turns its attention to the West District Championship, set for April 23-25 at The Olde Course in Loveland, Colorado. The Gila Monsters will look to build on their strong performances as they compete for a shot at nationals.
