Raiders Grab First Panhandle Conference Win

After struggling through the beginning of Panhandle Conference play, the Raiders put together a solid 5-1 win over Pensacola State College on Wednesday at Raider Field.  Offensively, the Raiders took an early lead and never looked back thanks to Mack Hathcock launching a solo shot in the sixth inning.  Hunter Tackett would then single and come around to score from a Handsome Monica hit down the third base line.  

The Raiders would further extend their lead in the seventh inning thanks to both Michael Higgins and Jarren Pinkney being hit by pitches to lead off.  Some stolen bases, a wild pitch, and some hits later, and the Raiders were up by 4 with a victory well within sight.  

Will Luft would grab the win on the mound after throwing 6.2 innings and only allowing 4 hits and 1 run to cross the plate.  Jarrett Montgomery would serve as the reliever over the final 2.1 innings and would strike out 4 while keeping the Pirates hitless to earn the save.
