Mesa Women's Golf took home the NJCAA Region I Golf Championship on Thursday at Ocotillo Golf Course.

The Lady T-Birds claimed the title after a +36 final round bringing their total for the tournament to +142 (115-109-95-107-426). Mesa has now won 22 of the last 24 Region I championships, all led under head coach John Guerrero's guidance.

The T-Birds dominated the top of the leaderboard as Mesa claimed four of the top five spots. Mackenzie Vongphosy was the individual champion as she finished +31 (80-82-76-77-315) in the tournament barely edging past teammate Kasey Reichard who claimed second place after shooting +32 (81-82-76-77-316) in the four day event. Reichard went into the final round in first place but a +12 (81) final round dropped her one spot.

Addison King was a close third as she finished +35 (78-81-81-79-319) in the tournament behind a +8 (79) final round. Lilian Stutz finished fourth as she shot +44 (89-83-75-81-328) during the event.

Mesa will now set their attention to the NJCAA DII Women's Golf National Championship May 13-16 in Boone, IA.
