CCBC Dundalk Oust CCBC Catonsville 90-78

Dundalk went to Catonsville and beat them in their house, it doesn't get better than that. The Lions won the battle between the two sister schools 90-78 on Friday night and secured their spot in the playoffs.

The Lions would score the first basket but go down 9-4 and take a timeout with 16:53 left in the first half. Out of the timeout the Lions would go on a 12-1 run and go up 16-10 with 10:27 left to go. But the Cardinals would respond with a 10-2 run of their own and take back the lead 20-18 with 8:26 left in the first half. Neither team could break away and that left us knotted up at 35 with a minute left before Murray Grant would splash a corner three to give the Lions a 38-35 lead. The half wasn't over as Catonsville would come back and answer with a three of their own, sending us to halftime 38-38.

The Cardinals came out hot scoring 9 straight points out of halftime 47-38. The Lions were down 51-41 with 16:38 left, 2 minute later the Lions were in the lead 54-51. The Cardinals were trying to stay in the game down 59-58 but the Lions had a little 7-0 runs to open the game up, 65-58 with 11 minutes left. Out of a timeout, the Lions would go on another 7-0 run to extend their lead to 13, 75-62 with 6 minutes left. The Lions would have a game high 15 point lead, 80-65 from a Naasir Johnson dunk as he put the final nail in the coffin. The Lions win 90-78 and move on to Garrett on Wednesday night.

Jayson Mouzon led the team with 20 points off the bench. Antonio Jenkins had 14 rebounds to go with his 6 points. Jordan Foster had 14 points, only missing one shot on the night which was a free throw while also leading the team in assists.
