Suns Baseball Rallies to Take MAC Series vs. North Lake, 2-1

The CVC Baseball Team claimed their second straight Metro Athletic Conference series after defeating the North Lake Blazers, 2-1. After hitting a setback in game one, the Suns rallied to take games two and three. CVC has now won five of their last six contests. 

In their game two triumph over the Blazers, the Suns fell behind 2-1 in the early goings, before they scored a total of 10 runs in between the fifth and seventh innings to help propel them to a 13-8 win. Tylor Frailey, Alex Bush, and Daniel Quintanilla all registered three runs and two hits each. J.J. Veloz Jr. had a team-high three hits, with Frailey adding a team-high two RBIs. Alex Garcia was awarded the win after pitching six innings with seven strikeouts. 

Game three saw the Suns deliver committed defense allowing only two runs, in their, 8-2 closeout victory against NLC. Jesse Mendoza and Alex Rivera led the Suns with three hits each. Rivera and Veloz Jr. each crossed home plate twice, while Mendoza and Bush both tallied two RBIs. Shannon Broussard earned the win from the mound, improving his season record to 4-0.

Cedar Valley will have one game over spring break, as they travel to Hillsboro to face Hill College on Tuesday.
