Schwingle Ties for 3rd as Chargers Place 2nd in Season Opener
GALESBURG — Olivia Schwingle tied for third overall and the Carl Sandburg College women's golf team took second place in the Sandburg Fall Invite on Saturday at Lake Bracken as the Chargers opened their fall schedule.
Schwingle shot a 91 to pace the Chargers, who totaled a 394 as a team. Schwingle tied Judson's Emma Walberg for third and was two back of runner-up Grace Kidwell, also of Judson. The Eagles' Hannah Ogden was medalist with a 10-over-par 83.
Two of the Chargers' other three scorers joined Schwingle with top-10 finishes. Freshman Ellie Wasson was sixth with a 98 in her collegiate debut, and sophomore Anna Duden was seventh with a 101. Freshman Addy Trego, competing as an individual, shot a 103 to tie for ninth.
Judson won the invite with a total of 357. Southeastern was third at 490.
