Baseball Wins Crazy First Game

Baseball Wins Crazy First Game

Titans Baseball kicked off the 2016 season with a crazy game to say the least.  Going ahead 2-0 early the Team found themselves in a hole with the score at 11-4 in favor of opponent Southwest Tennessee CC.  A Sam Martin home run along with a number of clutch at bats rallied the troops in the seventh inning setting the stage for a dramatic finish.

Starting right fielder Christian Hammond who already had a triple, a RBI, and scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning found himself in line for the win in the top of the ninth with the bases loaded and two outs.  A mean 0-2 fastball on the outside corner was just enough for the batter Ortiz to roll over and ground out to shortstop trevor Jensen to complete the comeback.

The Titans baseball team will play a double header tomorrow January 30th against Pensacola State College and Chipola College at the Walter Fuller Complex in St Petersburg, FL starting at 10am.
