The Sussex Skylanders battled with Region 3 Tompkins Cortland Saturday afternoon and headed back to NJ with their first loss of the season. The Panthers dominated the face off statistics and took advantage of a plethora of 'Landers turnovers to win 19-9.
Dom Falleni finished with 4 goals and 1 assist, while Kittatinny alumni Nolan Waldron and Blake Dipple both gathered 2 goals apiece. Grant Parker scored a goal on the afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper Collin Miller faced 40 shots and came away with 13 saves.
Region 19 powerhouse Mercer County Community College visits Sussex on Wednesday afternoon in the Skylanders first home game of the season.
The game will be played at 3:30 at Newton High School.
