WARRIORS COMPETE AT HAWKEYE INVITATIONAL

Iowa City, IA – The Indian Hills Women's Track & Field team returned to action to open up the new year as the Warriors competed at the Hawkeye Invitational, hosted by the University of Iowa on Saturday.

Jahzara Hart (Raleigh, NC/Southeast Raleigh) picked up where she left off to close out the 2022 year as the freshman brought home a fourth-place finish, and the top junior college finisher in the women's 60-meter dash. Hart crossed the finish line with a time of 7.63 in the finals.

Two-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American and Indian Hills school record holder Haleigh Hadley (Gilbert, IA/Gilbert) tied for third overall in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters. Hadley was the top junior college performer at the meet.

Sophomore Lizeth Flores (Harvard, IL/Harvard) placed sixth overall in the women's 800-meter run with a time of 2:36.21. The time is Flores' top indoor mark throughout her Indian Hills career.

Zaniya King (Ecorse, MI/River Rouge) provided a strong showing in the women's 200-meter dash, placing ninth overall with a time of 25.41 while Shanice Cox (Minneapolis, MN/Minneapolis South) placed 13th overall in the event with a time of 25.78.

The Warriors are back in action January 20-21 at a pair of competitions. The Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City will run on Friday and Saturday while the Iowa State Cyclone Open is set for Saturday.
