The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team placed third at the Seminole State Fall Warm Up Sunday at Mayfair Country Club in Sanford.

The Titans shot a final round 319 to finish third with a score of 628, behind tournament winner Seminole State College and Florida Southern.

Sophomore Gabrielle Fernandez shot a 79 to finish tied for fifth with teammate Sarah Knitter who shot an 80. Both players finished with a 156. Teammate Savannah Hawthorne also shot a 79 to finish with a 157 and Morela Boyd had an 81 to finish with a 159. Kira Shellman shot an 82, Gracie Doke finished with an 88 and Jasmine Yang had a 90.

"It was a tough day all around, we just seemed lethargic and lack energy," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Good starts for Gabby and Sarah, we have plenty of work to do before next event in October."

The women's golf team will compete in The Scotch hosted by St. Andrews University on Oct. 3-4.
