Daytona State Beach Relay
The Florida State College at Jacksonville men and women's cross country programs opened up the 2023 season at the Daytona State Beach Relay in Daytona Beach, FL.
This event took place on the beach and what made it unique, was the runners were paired with a teammate and each team's three best pairs are combined for a team score. The cross country team with the lowest scores wins.
"Racing here on the beach is a great way to start the season and we saw very strong performances from our freshmen runners tonight"
The women's cross country team was led by sophmores runners Lynn Winkler and Kayliegh McWatters who assisted their team to a third place finish. Freshmen Julio Rodriguez and Christian Mayfield led the men's team to second place team finish.
