Hudson Valley Community College women's soccer (6-0) continued their winning ways as the Vikings defeated Adirondack 11-0 on Wednesday afternoon in Troy, NY.

The Vikings offense opened the game ready to play as they scored early and often for their sixth straight win. Sydnee Metzold (Rotterdam/Schalmont), this week's NJCAA and Region 3 Player of the Week, put the Vikings on the board with a goal to the lower right side of the net from 15 yards out, giving Hudson Valley the 1-0 advantage. Metzold went on to score another two goals for her fourth hat trick of the season.

Cassie Patrick (Schuylerville/Schuylerville) scored a goal in her second straight game, sending a lob shot from 25 yards out over the keeper's head and giving the Vikings a 3-0 lead. Later, Brooke Clough (Latham/Shaker) and Kerri VanAusdle (Athens/Coxsackie-Athens) scored a minute apart from each other to extend the Vikings lead to 6-0.

Clough's goal was a line drive shot that went off of the keeper's hands and in to the back of the net. VanAusdle's goal came at the 26:30 mark from 35-yards away as she sent a looping shot into the left side of the net for her second goal of the year.

Kristen Bikowicz (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills) had a big game for the Vikings as she recorded her first career hat trick. She scored the Vikings fourth goal of the game as well as back-to-back goals to end the first half and give Hudson Valley the 8-0 advantage at the break.

The women's soccer team returns home on Wednesday, September 19 to play Mohawk Valley at 6 p.m.
